On March 30-31, 2016, 17 representatives from Mozambique’s civil society gathered in the northern city of Pemba for the second meeting of the country’s DGM interim committee. This workshop was an important milestone to bring the DGM process forward in Mozambique, and it provides a platform to discuss what issues are most important to forest dependent communities in Mozambique.

DGM Brazil, approved in March 2015 with the aim of strengthening Indigenous Peoples, Quilombolas, and Traditional Communities, published its first Call for Proposals on January 25th, 2016, which will support projects in natural resource management, market oriented projects, and projects that respond to immediate threats in the Brazilian Cerrado biome.
